This is Lily attempting to give Griff a hug. I think that he is hugging whatever toy he is holding. They are typically very liberal with their hugs. It's always a little dangerous though, because every time they hug each other there is a pretty significant risk that one of them is going to give the other a nasty head-butt.Posted by Jake at 9:00 PM 0 comments

Lily and Griff usually get some time to themselves to hang out and do what they want. It's their unsupervised social hour that Melissa and I use to get things done around the house. They play pretty well together. Sometimes they make each other mad, which is generally followed by screaming and/or crying. Every so often, however, we hear crying of a different sort. On one such occasion Melissa came into the room to find that Griff and gotten himself stuck in his drum. Unfortunately for him it was funny enough that Melissa wouldn't get him out until she had documented it.Posted by Jake at 6:52 PM 0 comments
This is a good picture for you to see how big she is getting. This is at G&G Baldwin's. She seems a little upset. It's most likely because Grandma B broke eye contact with her for a second or two. The hierarchy of Lily's favorite people is well established. The first tier is clearly occupied by the Grandmas. Melissa is the sole resident of tier two. The grandpas and I are on a rotation between third, fourth and fifth tier.Posted by Jake at 6:39 PM 0 comments

Well, it's been a while since I've made a real blog entry, but I've been busy. I was traveling quite a bit for a negotiation that took months to get finished, spending nights in school and mixing in a little family time. I'm sorry to say that the blog took a back seat. But I got done with my last final of the semester so I thought I'd better make the blog a priority.
I've made some changes since the last one. I went with a new format. (And for those of you who are wondering, and I know that some of you are, yes, that is a Bob Ross painting in the heading of the blog.) I also have to thank the Springers for turning me on to http://www.projectplaylist.com/. I was pretty excited to add music to the blog experience.
I hope that you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed putting the list together. Of course, I realize that not all of you are going to want to listen to what I've selected. You can pause it or just turn the sound down if you like. Either way is fine with me.Posted by Jake at 12:21 AM 0 comments

You know those discovery channel shows where some maniac gets in the ocean in a cage and starts baiting great white sharks so that he can get a picture of it? That's the kind of danger you have to face in order to get this kind of picture from Lily. She is a biter. She bites everything from her doll, to the couch, to Griff. He gets a new imprint of Lily's teeth somewhere on his body about every day. She may seem innocent most of the time, but she bites without remorse. If we can't figure out how to stop her soon we're going to have to put her in one of those Hannibal Lecter masks.Posted by Jake at 11:55 PM 1 comments

How did Griff get so dirty? We've got all the gruesome footage right here. (If you're listening to the media player above it would be good to pause it before playing this video.)
