The last month has been a pretty wild one. The kids are finally mobile. Lily has been cruising along furniture and the walls for a little while. (We found out that she could walk along the base of the wall when Melissa caught her standing at the edge of the stairs, looking down them and trying to figure out how she was going to get to the bottom.) She finally decided to start walking about a week ago. She can walk pretty well, though she still seems to prefer holding on to things. She hasn't even considered crawling yet. She just wants to walk - all the time. Griff, on the other hand, can crawl a bit. He doesn't do it a ton, but he can. There is a little fan that we keep in their room that he is quite taken with. He is always happy to crawl to it. Other times he just rolls around the room to get where he wants. He is a little magician. If you leave him alone for a second he can just disappear. The other day Melissa put him in the baby swing and locked down the little tray so that she could go take a shower. When she came back downstairs, the swing was still swinging, but the tray had been busted off and there was no Griffin to be found. He was across the room, chewing on the digital camera battery charger that had been plugged into the wall, none the worse for wear. Melissa said that he didn't even act like anything had happened. Apparently it was business as usual for Griff. Needless to say, there is a lot of home improvement happening at the Baldwin's right now.

They both really like to dance right now. Lily does a really fast head shake when she dances. Griff looks like the guys on A Night at the Roxbury. It is really funny.

Baldwin Baby Tooth Count: (as of 3/5/08)

Griffin: Seven (16) teeth

Lily: Four (12) teeth

That's about it for the kids. They are still fun and they are still keeping us busy. Only 8 more months until they get to go to nursery during church and only 4 more years until the start Kindergarten - just in cast you were wondering.
Things are going well for Melissa and I, too. Work and kids take up most of our time. I'm going to be back at Westminster this fall. I hope to be finished with the MBA program by the end of calendar year 2008. I'm traveling a little bit for work, but nothing too serious. We've both been graduated from high school for 10 years now, so we're getting pretty old.
In case any of you are interested in finding new music to listen to, I've decided to add a section to the blog today containing a short list of the music that I'm currently listening to.
Gogol Bordello - These guys are an eastern European, gypsy punk band. It's just about impossible to describe, so here is a link to the only song of theirs that has received any airplay. http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/window/media/page/listen/0,,3856244,00.html
The Postal Service - This sounds just like Death Cab for Cutie. Of course, it's the same singer so that shouldn't be too surprising. I've posted a link to a video of theirs. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5491745145345477142&q=the+postal+service+music&total=545&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=5
Try either of those out. They are pretty good.
That's it for now. Thanks for visiting.

Photographic proof that Lily can walk. She's got it pretty well figured out. She's a little wobbly some times, but she hasn't taken any major spills yet.

Griff is finally starting to figure out how to crawl. He has to be pretty motivated to crawl to something, though. He generally just rolls around to get to where he wants to go.

She's been cruising for quite a while. She'll use just about anything to help her get around. She tries to pick up my leg all the time so that she can extend it out closer to where she wants to go. She moves really fast, too. As you can see, we're in the midst of modifying the house so that she and Griff don't kill themselves trying to learn to get around.

Griff is our little wild man.

Just as happy as can be.

Pure frustration. This is what Lily does when she's really tired and we make her mad. She flops down and folds up and cries. She only does it when she's really sad. Unfortunately for her, Melissa and I like it so much that it takes us a while before we finally try to make her feel better.

Guitar Hero II is Griff's favorite game.

They've been dying to get to the cheese curd factory since the days they came home, respectively. This Logan detour to the Gossner cheese factory was like a dream come true for them.

Chickens run wild across the Idaho frontier. Lily was doing her best to chase them and Griff is searching for eggs. He missed the one behind him in the bushes.

Anything that makes a mess is good, as far as Griff is concerned. A colorful mess is even better.

Lily cruises all around her crib.

Griffin loves his sweater vest. He thinks that it makes him look very distinguished, like a banker.

The kids are proud to be Americans. They celebrated their first 4th of July with a wild sparkler party. The sparklers about blew their minds.

This is a very Hollywood look from Griff. See how he has more important things to do than look at the camera? Very Hollywood.

This is Lily's new favorite thing to do - nose honking. She will honk anyone, any time, any place. She absolutely loves it. We usually kind of rock the kids to sleep at night while they're eating to get them sleepy so we can put them in their cribs. Lily wants to honk my nose during the entire bottle. She's a nose honking fanatic.

This is Lily's own personal reenactment of "The River Wild."

I'm really not sure what warranted this look of surprise from the little guy.

Here are some pictures of the pair of them. They get along really well and enjoy playing together. They share toys and get into screaming contests. It's quite a lot of fun.

Lily and Griff got to go camping with their cousin Brooke. They had a good time. They love to be outside in the fresh air.

Griff enjoyed camping. He really likes being outside and checking out all kinds of new things.

Their cousin, Lil' William, got to come along, too. They had lots of fun together.

A couple of big, fat party animals.

Spending some quality time with good ol' great grandma Kathryn.

Lily, playing a little patty-cake with great grandma Harker.

Griff, in Idaho, with his great grandma Harker.
